Today....between my morning class and my afternoon class, I had some free time so I ran to my favorite discount shop (the one that could seriously give Wal-Mart a run for its money...keeping in mind that while in the States, I do prefer Tar-jay!)...I needed some stuff for Issei's over-nighter his class is taking on Wednesday and we needed some coffee (running dangerously low!) and of course, I had to find my "weekly impulse item".
I entered the store...grabbed my basket...and made my way over to the cosmetic area to see what O.P.I. nail polish I could buy today (I do that sometimes....the colors are great and honestly, I just love the names...today I bought Royal Flush Blush...I also have Argenteeny Pinkini, Nicole Alert! and Don't Know...Beets Me, along with a few others!!). I picked up some laundry soap (but forgot the dish soap...damn!)....and then....ERRRRRRCCCCCHHHHHHH! (sound of car tires squealing to a stop.)
I'm sorry....but THAT....is just wrong.
And remember....there are only 65 shopping days until Christmas.

I know. I saw the same thing at the Coast Guard Exchange yesterday. It made me maaaaadd. My sister things we should have Christmas every four years like the Olympics or elections. That way we could really get excited about it, if it were a little longer in between the barrages of ads.
They've been selling mince pies in the supermarkets here since mid-September! It puts me off the whole thing.
AND I walked past a restaurant the other day where they'd put the christmas tree up already. Hellooo???!!!
BTW, I've tagged you on my blog.
I love Christmas displays, they're soooooooooo pretty *giggle*!!!
Bah humbug.
I've decided I'm skipping the whole Christmas shopping thing this year. Gift giving and receiving is over rated. (Given the economy, I'd rather my family and friends save their hard earned money versus lavishing me with expensive gifts! Did I really just say that????)
I love OPI too... I bought a little cutesie pack of the latest French line and am in LURVE with Eiffel for this colour (actually got a few compliments on it too, a couple from total strangers).
Accccckkkkk!!! December is a killer month for birthdays for us too (Hubs and the girlie, 2 nieces and a SIL .... nuts) ... on top of Christmas.
so, so not ready either. Thank goodness we've got halloween keeping the shelves sorta stocked for the rest of the month.
I saw EGGNOG in the grocery store today! I can honestly ignore the seasonal decor stuff but eggnog? Seriously? Who's drinking it in October?
I love OPI and have about a dozen shades of pale pink that I never wear but I can't stop buying it.
Oh even worse - in SEPTEMBER when we were shopping for Halloween stuff for the 16th birthday party? that's right, we turned the corner in Tar-get and there was CHRISTMAS stuff. Unbelieveable. i am a huge Christmas fan - BUT NOT IN SEPTEMBER!
I pretend not to see it.
what store is that?? is that Mr. Max...? I have never been there...
The schools here were selling Christmas Crap (doesn't that have a nice ring to it?...Christmas Crap..But I digress) in August..I told them to talk to the hand.
The one w/o the checkbook in it..LOL
Reminds me of "It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown" when the kids go to the department store to buy Sally some Easter shoes and the Christmas stuff is already for sale with signs that say "Only 246 days until Christmas!".
My name's Chris - have seen your comments on Merlot Mom's blog. Thought I'd say hello!
65 days til Christmas usually brings me down, but thanks to cheri, this now only means we're 65 days closer til the idiot returns to his village.
The Christmas aisle at local stores is driving me crazy. It's just obscene before Halloween.
