...because this...is the way I roll 3% of the time

I'm pretty much in a good mood 97% of the time.
No, really, I am.

But sometimes.....sometimes....that last little bit of my psyche rears up its ugly head and demands to be dealt with. It doesn't happen very often and it hasn't happened for quite a while. Welcome to one of those times.

My mom always says that "If Mom is not happy....NObody is happy."

Well....we're going to work on that this weekend.....we may be working on it the whole weekend. Whatever it takes.
.
What do YOU do when you need to help yourself get back into the light?
This one may take some extra TLC (and a little rum, perhaps) to work through...any ideas??

I have a pretty big house, so I can go upstairs and separate myself from them with the laptop and some bad Lifetime TV.

I also recommend girlfriend outings.

Pretty much anything that puts distance between you and those that are getting on your nerves--which is usually your family!

Good luck getting over the crabbies.

May sound silly, but when I get in a bad mood I like to turn to u-tube. I look up videos of cute puppies or babies laughing or anything that you might find on America's Funniest Home Videos. It somehow bypasses my bad mood when it makes me laugh. I am then able to take a deep breath and feel better!

Hi Debbie. I recommend a hot bath, a good book, and some me time. A trip to a favorite spiritual spot (when I lived in MD it was Great Falls... I still don't have a place in GA). Yoga helps me too.

Oh, and a glass of wine or some rum wouldn't hurt!

For me, it is a glass (or two) of wine and my bedroom or bathtub. I clearly tell the family my needs/desire to be alone. They know better.
Good luck!!!

I too am like you...takes alot to make me "UNHAPPY", but a I have thrown a couple of tantrums in the past and now EVERYONE realizes that they better shape up or it will only get worse. You will make it, I have faith in you and I know those "Happy genes" we share will find their way to the top.

Depends on what has caused it. Usually I just go into my room and read a book but I have also just gotten in my car and driven around listening to music

I find that "me" time outside the house works. I can spend some time puttering around taking pictures or window shopping alone and pretty soon I'm in a better frame of mind that allows me to handle whatever crap has me worked up. Time with girlfriends is a definite option.

Chocolate girlfriend, it's always chocolate. But when that doesn't work? Chocolate vodka. I'm not kidding, either (hiccup!)
