The Feast...and some what-not

The Feast for Friday....the 13th...mwahahahaha....sorry...ahem...here we go...
(okay...and really...is "mwahahahaha" an actual word?? My spellcheck didn't catch it...WTH??)

Appetizer
Do you consider yourself to be an optimist or a pessimist?

I would like to say that I am basically an optimist...but I do have pessimistic moments.

Soup
What is your favorite color of ink to write with?
BLUE.....and the pen point needs to be not too fat and not too thin...juuuuuust right.

Salad
How often do you get a manicure or pedicure? Do you do them yourself or go to a salon and pay for them?
Oh...honeys...no often enough...can you say "almost never"?!?! I'm so sad. I usually do my own nails and I'm always buffing and scraping and other painful sounding stuff to my feet....and I ALWAYS have polish on my piggies!! Right now, I'm working to get my feet into being "summer-worthy"!!
Main Course
Have you ever won anything online? If so, what was it?
Does blogging bling count?? I've gotten some "awards" from my blogging buds...and a delicious "goody bar" and book from Gina during that blogging frenzy in February. I'm counting on winning the carpet from the contest in her blog...very soon!!! {smile}

Dessert
In which room in your house do you keep your home computer?
It's in a little corner of "my room".....I am still in the dark ages, it seems, because I don't have a laptop....still using the antiquated desktop....hard to carry around....extension cord not quite long enough to go anywhere else!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't know if you've heard or not, but, here in Japan...there are quite a few towns that have the name...Obama. Can you guess which Presidential candidate they are supporting??
The largest city of this name made up t-shirts with this design. For my favorite "Obama Mamas"(you know who you are!!), I'm looking...I've got "my people" on it...We have an Obama town near us, but...nothing yet. If we find do them..they are yours!!! :-D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So...at the store the other day, I found these handy, dandy little kitchen gadgets....They are little punches....for the nori ("seaweed")...to decorate the rice balls in children's lunch bentos. They are called "NikoNiko Punch3".....

No...sorry...huh-uh. I refuse to jump on that "oh my gosh...I have to make my son's bento look really cute and special so he will know that I love him and the other moms won't think I'm a bad mother by just putting regular nori around the rice ball." bandwagon.

(It was really hard to type that with one hand while pounding the top of my desk with the other!!)

It's really a good thing that Issei and Koji don't care about stuff like that. I'm thinking that, some mornings when they need a bento, they feel they are lucky knowing that I actually remembered I had to make a bento that morning and they have something edible in their bento boxes!! :-D

**Rainy season update.....this week we basically had 3 seasons....

Monday and Tuesday~~rainrainrainrainrain and more rain. Wednesday and Thursday~~ absolutely beautiful spring weather....a little cool, slightly breezy and sunshine both days!! Friday (today)~~sunny, no clouds and it was pretty damn warm, almost hot about 3:30 this afternoon...very nice early summer-like day.

I wonder what it will be like tomorrow when we wake up?!?!?!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh...by the way....I have a friend who has started a small business on the side to make some extra cash. She is selling these beautiful towels and towel-hangers as a special 2 for 1 combo.
Buy the towel and get the hanger for free!
I'm trying to help her out so.....Please let me know if any of you would be interested and what colors you would like ... (see below for image of towels and hangers). I intend to order one of each color!!!
**ah yes... working definitions of "beefcake" and "eye candy"!!!**
And with that, my loves....have a great Friday...
(yes...I was talking to you right then....NOT the "towel hangers"!!! teehee)
Heck, nori? They should consider themselves lucky they got rice packed into cute little balls. Are there special molds for different rice shapes?
As for the towel hangers, I'd love to order, but I prefer more exotic looking ones.
Pessimistic Moments Syndrome = PMS?
Interesting on the Obama thing. That's funny. Good thing don't have a town called Carrot Top, or we'd be in some trouble.
I'm a very optomistic person, but I too, have occasional *not me* times. (Mostly in math class, where I sit next to the two loudest and most annoying boys in the class, and the nice, yet VERY shy and quiet girl. She's nice, but she doesn't talk, and that doesn't help the whole annoying and obnoxious boy thing.)
I have four words to describe those four towel hangers--- tall, tan, SIX-PACK, and hair. (As in right to left in the pic.) I'm going to go post quickly. Bye!
I would not be able to survive in Japan. The whole bento box artwork is really intimidating to me. I hate packing lunches and basically abandoned my children to their own devices as soon as they were old enough to open the peanut butter. Poor kids.
Umm.. I was going to say something about the towel holders but I just read my daughter's comment and now I'm speechless. If I had just packed her some decent lunches she might not be oogling strange men.
Obama! I majored in Chinese (sort of similar language) but never would have thought Obama a name for a Japanese city.
Here's how much of an optimist (and control freak) I am. I don't rule the world yet but I think I might someday. Just that thought makes me happy!
