Bloggy Blockage...What's a girl to do?

Maybe after having a really "blah" kind of day yesterday, my brain was/is having a really hard time getting going...so...when there is nothing exciting (other than the fact that YEAH!! even as I type, some "pit stop" or deodorant/anti-perspirant is on its way here....I love my mom!! And thanks to all of you who offered to send some...I will be keeping your comments, just in case it is evah needed again! Okay?) I guess I will just have to 'drop back 5 yards and punt'...

Okay....look at these....the K-Man has an incredible "green thumb" and here's what we got going on in our garden right now......

If we can just keep our favorite 5-year-old from picking them, we might possibly have enough to make some blueberry muffins in a few days!!! And yeah....I must admit that I , too, have been known to pick one or two....they really are yummy!!!!

Thought about that "first crush" again today....definitely NOT on the same 'train of thought' as I was the other day...funny how that happens, huh? :-D

Japanese people love their slippers.

When you enter a house here, there will almost always be a pair of slippers for you to put on. (If you are a student coming into my house, then, of course, there are slippers...If you are just a friend...."mi casa es su casa" and I don't wear slippers ergo....you don't either, unless you want to and then, sure...I'll get them out for you!!!)

There are also special slippers for the toilet....yes...you read that correctly. Upon entering a toilet(again...not my house!), you slip off the slippers you are currently wearing and stepping into the restroom, quickly slip on the "bathroom slippers"....when you are finished, make sure you take those off and once again put on the regular ones. God forbid should you forget and walk through the house wearing the bathroom slippers......major faux pas, my friends....muy grande OOPS!!!

I had to laugh at a friend one time because her restroom was, and I kid you not on this, the size of a very small closet.....it was like the toilets on an airplane...and damned if she didn't have slippers for you to change into. That just made me giggle!!

If a house or apartment has a balcony or deck, there will be...yeah...special slippers for you to wear outside....no no no...we (again....this does not include me, usually) never wear our "inside" slippers outside.

I have actually seen my husband, when somebody rings the doorbell, take off his slippers in the entrance way...go 2 steps down and put on his outside slippers to go and answer the door!! You should see the looks on the faces of the people when they see me answer the door in my, *gasp* bare feet!!!! I'm guessing that it would be the equivalent to answering the door in your underwear in the western world!!

Anyway...I did have a point here.....so...in our house, we have a lot of wood flooring...and cleaning it really is, pardon the expression, but...a bitch. A few years ago I found these and I love them....

They make cleaning the house just a bit more fun....I put on some music...push back the chairs and just dance and clean...clean and dance!!! Bob Seger (and his Silver Bullet Band) is what I've been "cleaning" to lately.....I sent some to my mom and her choice of music when she does her floors is Elvis or Neil Diamond!! (Hey Susan...what about you?!?!)

So...the pair I have is falling apart..I was looking for some new ones and I'm thinking that I really do need this pair....

And on that Hello Kitty-ish note...I will say...good night.

Have a great week!!

But, But, BUT .... community slippers? Yikes, that would creep me out. Who's gnarly feet were in them before me? And what if they had some kinda foot fungus?

I like good ole bare feet! I don't like shoes worn in the house ... can you imagine what's on the bottoms?

I'm a slipper fan, but the rest of my family is bare or stocking feet. Guests can do what they want.

I'm not sure what I think about the community slippers thing either.

Awesome slippers! We have hardwood downstairs and carpet upstairs and it seems to be "shoes off shoes on" all the time. I don't think I could deal with the whole slipper thingy...
I am a barefoot fan, inside, outside, whatever.

My version of slippers are CROCS...I have several pair, I keep a pair by the bed, a pair at the door and the fur lined ones for those cold winter months. Luv em...Now I see they have HEEL Crocs, may invest in some of those next week for the wedding.

I wish Mrs Farty had known about cleaning slippers before we reverted to carpets because "it's too much effort cleaning wood floors." Sigh.

Typing this in my indoor slippers.

I really need a pair of nice slippers. I am a barefoot girl, and my feet are paying for it. My husband HATES to see my dirty feet, LOL! I just haven't found the perfect ones yet....Those cleaning kitty ones though...hawt.

Cute! Now they need to make roller skates with little vacuum cleaners in them. That would be awesome.

Those slippers are awesome! Do they actually clean as you walk? If so I need a pair!

Nice blueberries!

That's so interesting about the slippers. But, that's a lot of slippers to keep around. Don't peoples kids mess with them and mix them all up for leave them in random places? Or would that just be my kids who can't even keep track of one pair?

I thought that slipper thing was only a Chinese weirdness. Although growing up, my parents didn't adhere to slippers for us, but we did offer them to people coming into the house, ie. guest slippers. Never washroom slippers, though, that's hilarious.

As are those cleaning slippers ... ingenious. And hello kitty, so adorable.

That sign about ex-creeps; classic. Thanks for that!!

Seriously, I really like the idea of no shoes in the house, or even the slippers idea, but for some reason I just suck at enforcing it. That is one thing that just doesn't fly around here. I guess because it isn't a big priority to me.

I love the Hello Kitty slippers! I don't understand how you could have so many pair of slippers without your whole house becoming a slipper pile. I have enough trouble keeping the shoes put away and they seem to multiply when I'm not looking.

WHERE can I get those Hello Kitty slippers??!

The slipper thing actually makes sense to me because I saw a Dateline show about the bathroom and how when you flush the toilet, fecal molecules go on everything around the bathroom. The show said you should definitely not have your toothbrush laying out on the sink (as most people do) so wearing the bathroom slippers actually does make sense. Sorry to be so gross.

OMG I LOVE IT!!! Hello Kitty Cleaning Slippers? Get me a pair! Hahaha! I didn't know there were that many slippers to be owned! I don't have a pair of slippers that I like, though I do have old ones that I liked. I got a pair... one or two Christmas's ago, and they were NOT comfortable, besides the fuzzyness. Ok, got to go to bed. Goodnight!

P.S. Of course, you blog about slippers, and Mom complains about our shoes. (Sarcasm, sarcasm. Not meant to be rude, mom. =D) Night.

I'm super tired just trying to follow the trail of slippers...Good for you not succumbing to peer slipper pressure.

Go for the Hello Kitty floor sweepers!

I went to Japan on holiday earlier this year and stayed in ryokans. I felt sooo bad every time I forgot to change into my bathroom slippers. But really, who'd find out anyway??

Oh my gosh. I NEED those slippers. The new house is all decked out with hard wood, which we all love to look at, but none love to sweep 437 times a day.

And bathroom slippers? As in, come pee with these which others have peed with, then leave them at the door? Huh?

Love diversity!
